摘要
The author addresses the issues of interaction of the traditional Greco-Roman culture and the Christian ideas. The author considers the most revealing mutual borrowing, proposes to revise the traditional polarity against the culture of antiquity and Christian spirituality, and focuses on ancient and Christian mental facilities as a way of preserving the historical and cultural identity, for both the ancient world and Christianity. It is shown that current approaches to the study of the mutual influence of antiquity and Christianity are unidirectional and do not affect the essence of the phenomenon, which needs to be reviewed in light of the challenges of our time.
