摘要
The surveillance radars in long range air defense networks face a formidable range of hard-kill and soft-kill counter-measures. In this paper, a hypothetical mobile support receiver capable of working within existing and future air defense networks as a means to maintain essential surveillance functions is described. It is shown how such a receiver could support several radars in different bands, could provide improved target detection in chaff and jamming and could locate jammers and enhance survivability. In principle, these functions can be combined in a covert mobile unit using currently-available phased-array technology and industry-standard digital processing hardware.
