THE COTTRELL-STOKES LAW FOR FCC SINGLE-CRYSTALS

摘要
The new method of the strain rate change has been used to completely eliminate the machine and the sample elastic compliance. Therefore the Cottrell-Stokes law for copper, aluminium and silver single crystals deformed at low temperatures has been verified with great confidence. In all the experiments the increasing deviation from the Cottrell-Stokes law has been observed from the beginning of the crystals plastic flow throughout the deformation. Such character of the Cottrell-Stokes relation can testify that at least at a low temperature the plastic flow in stages II and III is controlled by the same mechanism or, that the deformation mechanism systematically changes throughout the deformation.
