摘要
An automated image processing and pattern recognition system was applied to the identification of the following genera exhibiting distinct differences in shape: Asterionella, Melosira, Fragilaria, Ceratium, Peridinium. The classification structure developed by a computer program was able to attribute all colonies or cells considered to the corresponding genus. Copyright © 1978 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
