KINETICS OF EXTRACTION OF MACROAMOUNTS OF PLUTONIUM AND URANYL-NITRATE FROM NITRIC-ACID BY TRIBUTYLPHOSPHATE IN DILUENT

摘要
The kinetics of extraction of macroamounts of Pu and uranyl nitrate by 30% tributylphosphate (TBP) in a diluent were studied. The work was performed on an apparatus with a fixed interface area using mechanical stirring. Replacing CCl4 by n-paraffins (NPH) had practically no effect on the rate constants of U and Pu extraction. Coextraction of Pu and uranyl nitrate resulted in displacement of Pu from the organic phase. This is interesting from the viewpoint of possible improvements in separation of components using kinetics.
