The structure and evolution of shock waves (SW) in a cold nonequilibrium plasma of a transverse pulsed discharge are studied. Special attention is paid during experiments to peculiarities in the propagation of shock waves in the electrode region. It is found that a SW propagating in plasma undergoes a transformation, resulting in a complex structure.
