Chosen options to get the best cooling system of injection mold for medical part using CAE tools

摘要
The major objective of this study was to choose the best cooling system for an injection mold designed to produce a piston, a rubber cover and a vacuum tube. These are parts that compose a medical instrument for breast cancer early detection, using tools of Computer Aided Design and Computer aided Engineering (CAD/CAE). In order to carry out the major objective, different cooling systems where considered depending on the part form, and simulations for each one where made with the simulation program. It was found that the best distribution of the cooling system for the rubbers and the pistons are the across channels; but, the recommended cooling systems for the vacuum tubes, was crossing channels by the outside refrigeration and a baffle by the inside refrigeration f the part.
