摘要
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Staging Committee has created an international lung cancer database, which has proven to be helpful in solving many disease staging issues, which are known to be based on a description of the primary tumor, lymph node involvement and the presence of metastases. Changes in the 8th edition of Staging of Lung Cancer were mainly based on survival and aimed at better prognostic stratification of patients with lung cancer. According to the data, the staging TNM system remains the best prognosticator of lung cancer outcome. In this review we present the new 8th edition of the TNM Staging of Lung Cancer and point out the differences from the previous 7th edition.
