The data indicates that if the matrix is in the molten state there is a consistency between the results of previous investigations [8,9] and the present investigation. We suggest then that the lowest interfacial energy OR is the following: [112̄0] SiC ∥ [110] Al; (0001) SiC ∥ (112) Al. © 1995.
