ELECTRON-MICROSCOPIC DETECTION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF GROEL (CHAPERONIN) AND MOFE-PROTEIN OF NITROGENASE FROM AZOTOBACTER-VINELANDII

摘要
Electron microscopic evidence for the association of nitrogenase MoFe-protein and a GroEL-protein of Azotobacter vinelandii was obtained. The images of the complexes suggest that the GroEL-protein possesses specific sites with a binding affinity for MoFe-protein. The association of these proteins is similar to that of GroEL-like protein and two oligomeric enzymes, glutamine synthetase and ribulose diphosphate carboxylase from pea leaves seen in our earlier studies.
