WEAK NONLINEAR AXISYMMETRICAL OSCILLATIONS OF A INVISCID LIQUID COLUMN WITH ANCHORED FREE-SURFACE UNDER ZERO-GRAVITY

摘要
For a frictionless cylindrical liquid column between two discs and anchored liquid edges in zero-gravity the non-linear natural frequencies are determined approximately for large free liquid surface amplitudes. The non-linear boundary conditions have been expanded up to terms of third order. It was found that the system exhibits a softening oscillation behavior, indicating that with increasing wave amplitudes the natural frequencies exhibit decreased magnitude as compared to linear theory.
