摘要：

Stimulating and unsettling, the construction, planning and remodelling of libraries are amongst my favourite activities. I have been associated with three library construction projects (Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, the Laval campus and the Outremont campus of the Universite de Montreal) as well as several remodelling projects. Without pretension, this article outlines five pieces of advice based on my experience.
