摘要
Technology level and agro-climatic conditions constitute the most important set of factors pertinent in the production of a crop. Under the purview of the All India Coordinated Research Project on Energy Requirements in Agricultural Sector, an effort was made to assess the energetics of wheat production under two different agro-climatic conditions of Uttar Pradesh, and this paper reports the results of the study. It was concluded that the total energy needs for cultivating wheat were higher in the village cluster eco-systems of Khamaria (representing the Tarai area) in comparison to the village cluster of Jaipur Bisha (Bhabar area of Uttar Pradesh). However, the output-input energy ratio and the specific energy (energy input for producing unit weight of grain) were the same in both the selected village clusters.
