RADIOCHEMICAL TRANSFORMATIONS OF AMINO-ACIDS IN HUMAN SERUM-ALBUMIN

摘要
The radiochemical transformations of amino acids in gamma-irradiation of human serum albumin with different concentrations of protein were investigated in the presence and absence of an acceptor of the products of radiolysis of water. It was shown that their position in the polypeptide chain (accessibility to the products of radiolysis of water, secondary structure, properties of neighboring amino acid residues) affects the radiation sensitivity of protein amino acids. It was shown that the secondary radicals formed from amino acid residues cause transformations of neighboring amino acids. The radiochemical yields of these processes were determined.
