VELOCITY OF ULTRASOUND WAVE IN MIXED GASES AT HIGH-PRESSURE

摘要
Velocity of ultrasound waves in a mixed gas of helium and argon have been measured at 25°C under high pressure up to 20 KB, and in mixture of helium and xenon up to 5 KB. In the latter case, separation of the gas phase has been observed, but not in the former case. Pressure of the phase separation measured from sound velocity are in very good agreement with the previous data obtained from visual observation. Reaction rate of phase separation of the mixed gas is also discussed. © 1979, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN. All rights reserved.
