LIGHT-SCATTERING IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS OF ETHYLENEDIAMINE

摘要
We have studied the water-ethylenediamine system by the method of molecular light scattering. We have obtained data on the degree of depolarization and the absolute light scattering coefficient over the entire concentration region at three temperatures. We calculated the contributions to the overall light scattering coefficient from scattering off fluctuations in the density, the anisotropy, and the concentration. In dilute solutions, we have found an anomaly in the light scattering: the maximum at 0.04 ppm for ethylenediamine decreases with an increase in the temperature. This phenomenon is explained by the interference of fluctuations in the anisotropy and concentration under hydrophobic hydration and hydrophobic interaction conditions in dilute solutions of ethylenediamine.
