摘要
This paper concludes the work described by Melton and Harrison (1990) on the prediction of the droplet size of liquid droplets from hydraulic hollow cone nozzles, d(N). Although the work is empirical, statistics support the validity of the equation. The original equation evolved (Melton and Harrison, 1990) was gained for water with varying flowrate and pressure. The equation presented here takes into account liquid physical and rheological properties as well as flowrate and pressure. Finally future theoretical work is discussed with the aim being to remove as much empiricism as possible from the method.
