摘要：

The article deals with chances and prospects of Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the EU and NATO in the context of internal political confrontation in the country and a deep divide between its major ethnic groups. Weakening of Belgrade's support of the Republica Srpska induces its leaders to resort to permanent manoeuvres and forced compromises. However, western attempts to impose upon B and H a centralized structure might lead only to the growth of tension. This country can still be imagined by as a state similar to Belgium, but it cannot be reorganized along the France model.
