摘要
The lime obtained from calcination of steam-dried lime mud in a pilot-scale fluidized bed is compared with lime from conventional full-scale calciners. The pilot plant was operated at 840-980 degrees C, with a residence time of 2 h. Lime pellets from the pilot plant had good strength. Laboratory results confirm the correlation between the specific surface area of calcined (reburned) lime and the specific filtration resistance of the lime mud produced during causticization. Results show that the surface area of lime produced in a fluidized-be calciner can be controlled by the bed temperature.
