摘要
Introduction: The aim of this study is to analyze whether there is anything in medical theory that could be useful for neoclassical economic analysis. Methods: Based on a review of current literature there are three principle ways to do so; the most promising one is further investigated by comparing the medical approach to the economical one. Results: The basis of a medical approach (anatomy, physiology) and the higher analytical layers vis-a-vis its objects are closer to empirical natural sciences than are economics. Discussion: There are some difficulties in applying a quasi-medical approach to economics but they don't seem insurmountable. It is interesting to further investigate into these results and to make them useful for the further development of economics.
