THE PERIODIZATION IN HISTORICAL SCIENCE. BACKGROUND IN CUBAN HISTORIOGRAPHY

Taking into account the importance of the chronology of the historical development of social structures, hereby is set forth generally and by way of introduction what is a historical periodization, on what basis is it founded, and how it may serve us as a theoretical instrument in the processes of social reconstruction. In a tight synthesis a synoptic chart is presented of the different periodization schemes which have tried to order the aboriginal panorama of Cuba throughout more than eight decades of discoveries and scientific discussions, colored by heterogenous theoretical positions.
