摘要：

The article deals with analyze of using images of the past for propaganda in the First World War years. The most interesting images in "the propaganda by the past" were showed and analyzed. Two directions were marked: supporters of Europeanization and supporters of pan-Slavism. These ideologies were basis of the historiosophic discourse. Reflections of historians about fortunes of Russia, revolution and reasons of defeat were analyzed too.
