摘要
Thermoluminescent dosimeters employing two or more different phosphors can be used for measuring the dose from different components of a radiation field. In particular two phosphors of differing atomic numbers can be utilized to measure the effective energy of an X- or γ-ray field. If their glow-peak temperatures differ sufficiently, or if a time delay can be applied to the heating of one or the other phosphor, their thermoluminescence signals can be separately measured in a single heating operation. The resulting combined glow curve contains, in peak height or area of either glow-peak, the dose or exposure reading. The ratio of peak heights (or areas) yields the effective energy. Such a tandem dosimeter, employing extruded LiF (TLD-700) and hot-pressed CaF2:Mn, has been constructed and its performance explored. © 1968.
