A Research on the Importance of Using Proverbs and Idioms in Religious Education and Teaching

摘要
Education is a process that begins with birth, is based on family, is shaped in school and is continuing for life. In this process, the most decisive elements of the basic heritage is "language and religion". It is important to use proverbs and expressions in religious education, which is a common denominator of the human being, that the concepts of "religion" and "education" are used together. Because proverbs and idioms are natural expressions of the culture they belong to. In this study, the importance of educational use of proverbs and idioms, one of the most important elements of Culture, in religious education and teaching will be discussed. For this purpose, first of all, the sources consisting of major proverbs and idioms were scanned by the method of the exploratory approach, and proverbs and idioms which can be used in religious education and teaching were determined by the method of descriptive approach. They were then classified according to the main subjects of faith, worship and morality. According to this, it has been concluded that the proverbs and expressions related to ethical issues are more numerous than the others, that there are many proverbs and expressions that can be used in religious education and teaching, and that, given the developmental stages of the child in terms of their educational characteristics, it is an important material that should be used in religious
