Adequate aqueous stability and cross-linking ability of the novel title reagent, recently discovered in this laboratory, have been demonstrated by comparison of its rate of hydrolysis with the rate of reaction with an amine nucleophile and by cross-linking deoxy- and oxyhemoglobins, as an example. © 1990.
