Tropical and travel diseases of the skin are acute and chronic skin diseases of infectious and non-infectious nature, due to the specific effects and risks of staying in climates outside the temperate zone (tropics, subtropics, arctics). Increased travel, but also international migration from developing countries to the industrialized countries as well as from the industrialized countries to tropical and subtropical countries are increasingly confronting dermatologists in the industrialized countries with tropical and travel diseases of the skin. Even dermatologists trained in the industrialized countries are increasingly active internationally and therefore require profound knowledge of their special tropical and veterinary activities. As part of the dermatological training, especially under the restrictions of the DRG system in Germany, a well-founded education in these diseases is only occasionally offered. The International Society for Dermatology in the Tropics in the ADI-TD has therefore, in cooperation with the German Dermatological Academy (DDA) with the certificate "Tropical and Travel Dermatology (DDA)" created specific training courses. The training content for the "Tropical and Travel Dermatology (DDA)" certification is taught in 3 full-time modules (7 hours each): basic, advanced and special seminar. A division into half days in the context of larger training conferences is also possible. The seminars are interactive; the practice-oriented presentation of knowledge and the discussion with experts are central to the curriculum.
