摘要：

Settlement houses are constituted as an organization that addresses the problems associated with immigration. Today, Vancouver (Canada) has about fourteen settlement houses attending 40,000 immigrants each year who choose to live, work and raise their children in the province of "British Columbia" to which the city of Vancouver belongs. This article presents the continuity of these centers that introduce a model for alternative attention, a kind of urban mission and philosophy of the first settlement.
