摘要
The magnetization process of single-crystalline CeCo5 has been measured at various temperatures from 4.2 to 300 K in high magnetic fields up to. 40 T. The uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant K1 is found to be about 35% higher than that of YCo5. The magnetization anisotropy reaches p = 0.12 at 4.2 K, which is also higher than that of YCo5. Both the anisotropies decrease with increasing temperature. These experimental results indicate that Ce in CeCo5 is in a mixed-valence state.
