INELASTIC NEUTRON-SCATTERING IN SOME HEXAGONAL CERIUM COMPOUNDS

摘要
Inelastic neutron scattering experiments have been performed on the hexagonal compounds CeZn5, CeCu5, CeCu4Ga and CeCu4Al. One single inelastic transition due to the crystal field has been observed in each compound, at an energy transfer very different from one compound to the other, suggesting strong variations of the band structure. Quasi-elastic scattering has also been observed, indicating a Kondo effect which is less pronounced in CeZn5 than in the other three compounds. © 1990.
