This study is the examination of the diffracted field produced by an H-type plane wave striking a moving conducting wedge. This is the first attempt to examine diffraction by a moving body possessing an edge. The procedure consists of applying the Lorentz transformation to the stationary wedge problem, solving for the diffracted cylindrical field in a Sommerfeld integral formulation, and transforming the solution to the frame of the incident wave. It is shown that there is a shift in the apparent direction of incidence. Graphical results showing the modification of the far-field amplitude for the case of a half-plane are also presented. © Copyright 1968 by the American Geophysical Union.
