摘要
The use of diamond (natural, CVD or HPHT synthetic) as a target in nuclear and atomic physics studies has increased substantially over particularly the past decade. This demand embraces a sweep of thicknesses from ''thick'' (approximately 1 mm) to ''thin'' (approximately 1 mum) and in all cases a surface that is minimally disordered. The preparation of suitable targets in the case of diamond calls on skills and techniques that are unusual in the armamentarium of the conventional nuclear target maker.
