摘要：

This article extends the results of Malcomson on the optimal replacement problem in vintage models. Malcomson provided numerical evidence on the fact that the optimal machine life is constant under certain conditions. In this article these conditions are made more explicit and an analytical proof of the constancy of the optimal machine life is given. © 1991.
