摘要
Objectives. The purpose of this article is to present the application of a new tool in two surgical techniques: a case of elevation of the maxillary sinus and an expansion of the edentulous ridge. Materials and methods. Two clinical cases are presented where dental implants are inserted with the aid of piezoelectric surgery. Performing sinus lift, ostectomy and osteoplasty were done with specific inserts, limiting the chances of Schneiderian membrane perforation. Performing ridge expansion, horizontal and vertical ostectomis were done. Results and conclusions. This new device allows you to work on bone without damaging soft tissues, on a clean and bloodless operatory field, reducing the possible complications. Fracture of cortical plates are much less frequent.
