摘要
We used paranasal coronal and reformat axial CT images in order to evaluate the anatomical variations of the sinus maxillaris in Turkish subjects. We evaluated 256 maxillary sinuses in 128 patients (64 males, 64 females). The form of maxillary sinus was parabolic in 32%, semiellipsoid in 27%, hiperboloid in %27 and conic in 9% of cases. Partial septum was more frequently observed in the anterior wall of maxillary sinuses The frequency of bilateral sagging of the sinus from the base of nose was 87%. They were on the same level in 9.5% cases and 6.5% of the cases the sinus floor was above the level of the base of the nose. With respect to Haller cells, our observations suggest that these structres are present in %10.1 of Turkish people (12% in women and 8% in men).(10%). Onodi cells was observed in two cases.
