摘要
A telescope using spark chamber technique is described for detecting high energy γ-rays. The area solid angle factor is 160 cm2· sr and the conversion efficiency for a 100 MeV γ-ray is 17%. Events are recorded photographically. An orienting sysyem couteracts the rotation of balloon about the Zenith to within ± 1 2° . The limit sensitivity which can be reached is 2.6×107-6γ/cm2· sec in the energy range 100 MeV to 1 GeV. This system has operated successfully on two flights. © 1969.
