摘要
Leptonchus appears to be rare in the mallee soils adjacent to the Murray River. The single population found in a vineyard at Red Cliffs is assigned to Leptonchus granulosus Cobb. Tylencholaimus is relatively common. T. obscurus Jairajpuri is found in most irrigated vineyards and orchards. T. gertii Kruger occurs in non-irrigated soils where cereals are grown and also in irrigated soils. T. stecki Steiner has been found in uncultivated soil. A new species of Chitwoodius, described as C. fuscus, is common in mallee soils, cultivated or uncultivated. It is smaller than C. transvaalensis, has a much shorter spear, and a transverse vulva, and lacks the fringed appearance in the vagina described for the type species. © 1969 BRILL.
