MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF BOROXINE, H3B3O3, DETERMINED BY ELECTRON DIFFRACTION

摘要
The structure of H3B3O3 in the gas phase has been determined by electron diffraction, using digitized microdensitometric data. The heavy atoms are arranged in a planar six-membered ring (D3h). Several nonplanar structures were considered and limits were set on the magnitude of out-of-plane distortion for the average conformation. The bond lengths are B-H = 1.192 ± 0.017 and B-0 = 1.3758 ± 0.0021 Å. The bond angles are 120 ± 0.64°. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
