摘要
There is an established, workable method for producing replicas from black magnetic particle indications by the use pf pvc paste. Many of the replica processes of magnetic particle indications are suitable for shop floor use. A cold-curing rubber method gives good results, but care must be exercised in its operation and it is more suitable for the laboratory than for the shop floor. It is also more expensive and time-consuming than the paste method. Oxide coating methods are available for use in particular circumstances. The methods currently in being for the production of replicas of penetrant indications are suitable only for laboratory application. Further work is required to develop better methods which could be applied on the shop floor as part of a standard inspection process. Such techniques would be of great value to the quality control engineer and would simplify some of the inspection problems which now beset him. © 1968.
