摘要
Engineering surfaces are generated by a variety of manufacturing processes, each of which produces a surface with its own characteristic topography. A method for the prediction of the topography of engineering surfaces has been developed based on models of machine tool kinematics and cutting tool geometry. The model termed the surface-shaping system accounts for not only the nominal or global cutting motions but also takes into account errors during machining such as tool runout, machine deformation and vibration, as well as higher order motions.
