Inverse gas chromatography has been used to generate a comprehensive set of interaction data for 9 hydrocarbon polymers and 43 solvents. The solvents cover a wide range of different chemical families, and the polymers possess increasing amounts of backbone substitution. For each polymer-solvent system, the specific retention volume, the Flory-Huggins interaction coefficient, X12, and the excess cohesive energy per unit volume, B12, are presented. © 1990, American Chemical Society.
