摘要
Energy levels, transition probabilities and radiative lifetimes are calculated for excited states of the boron-like ions, N(III), O(IV) and F(V). The results suggest two lasing transitions in the infrared and ultraviolet spectral regions. The upper laser level is the long lived 1s(2)2s(2)4p (2P) state while the lower levels are the short lived 1s(2)2s(2)4s (2S) and 1s(2)2s(2)3d (2D) states. Multiply charged ion-atom collision in a dense expanding plasmas is a possible excitation mechanism leading to population inversion.
