摘要：

This article is intended to deliberate on the notion of encounter in Emmanuel Levinas based on a theoretical reflection. It is a research procedure from documentary strategy. This paper deals with three topics: "The encounter in Levinas respond to the first philosophy of alterity"; "The notion of encounter in Levinas considered as an in-front of faces"; and "The alterity considered as reception and hospitality is the synthesis of ethics of Levinas encounter as first philosophy". This article concludes that the encounter is not another expression of self-logic, but in it the subject transcends selfness and offers his presence for the relation with other that asked him dialogue and the use of alterity.
