摘要：
A new series of bowl-shaped columnar liquid crystals 1, having a conformationally mobile macrocyclic core, is described. Four compounds of this series 1d-g display a D(r) columnar mesophase. The effect of structural and conformational changes of the core on the mesomorphic nature and properties of this class of mesogens is described.
