摘要
This paper extends a variational principle originally proposed by Needleman and Rice (1980) for the analysis of grain-boundary diffusion controlled processes to include the effects of an interface reaction. A numerical procedure is described for the analysis of two-dimensional arrays of regular hexagonal grains, which has the same structure as the finite element method. The procedures described are suitable for the analysis of the creep and sintering of fine grained materials, in situations where grain-boundary diffusion controlled mechanisms dominate.
