The impossible theatre in TV of Marco Paolini

In the Italian cultural scene, the commercialisation of stage plays is not at all orientated to a single and concrete consumer. On the contrary, this products must be understood as large mass consumer products. In fact, in the last two decades TV broadcasts, publishing houses, magazines and other different written mass medias have been editing and selling successfully stage plays with a great reception by both the critics and audience. In this context, Marco Paolini's published works have had (and still have) a main status. The televised edition of his plays, such as Il racconto del Vajont, Miserabili, Il Milione o Ausmerzen. Vite indegne di essere vissute, are examples of how stage plays can be presented in television channels, and, at the same time, understood as a main point of departure for a reflection about the possibilities of televised adaptation of stage plays.
