A SIMPLE COMPUTATIONAL METHOD FOR REDUCING STREAK ARTIFACTS IN CT IMAGES

摘要
A simple method for reducing horizontal or vertical streak artifacts in CT (Computerized Tomography) images is presented. The artifact correction is achieved by standardizing the mean of each matrix row or column to a common gray level. Prerequisite for this manipulation is the deletion of bone and all information outside the bone. Both procedures are realized as FORTRAN modules in a general CT picture processing program.
