The arrival of the First Visitation at Holy Office in 1591 to the Portuguese America - an event that would last until 1595 - has brought Catholic and regal interest of maintaining a religious population control which caused, in turn, control the very subjects of the King of Portugal. In this sense, although the Judaizing practices have prevailed in the list of complaints, confessions and processes promoted by the Visitor, other offenses set forth in inquisitorial Monitorio also circulated in the New World, for example, the interest in having some individuals recognized that space for practicing rituals guessing. Interest that occurred with greater force between the female figure, resulting even in a inquisitorial proceedings against Felicia Tourinho, accused over the Visitation in Pernambuco. This paper proposes, therefore, to investigate the relationship between the presence of women across the field of the supernatural, in particular the practice of divination, becoming interested in decoding the beliefs and practices as well as to analyze the cultural links around the association woman religiosity intervention while the destinations.
