摘要：

This article seeks to show, from the launch and reception analysis of first literary works by Ceara writer Juvenal Galeno, how was the initial process of popular culture incorporation as a nationalist theme for the brazilian literature in the second half of XIXth century. This is the time when the scientistic research project about brazilian culture formation is brewing, almost ready to be promoted by the new graduates of Escola de Recife in the 1870s.
