摘要：
This paper discusses and illustrates the influence of transverse shear on the response of a thick elastic-plastic beam when it is subjected to a pulse load. The pseudo-normal mode superposition method is used for solving the equations of motion. Numerical results are obtained for simply supported and clamped beams subjected to a pulse load of finite duration.
