ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR OF 6-(N,N-DIMETHYL-AMINO)FULVENE IN APROTIC MEDIA

摘要
Cyclic voltammetry (CVA) was used to study the electroreduction of 6-(N,N-dimethylamino)fulvene (fulvene I) in aprotic polar solvents (acetonitrile, DMSO, DMF). It was shown that in solutions with tetraethylammonium perchlorate, fulvene I is irreversibly reduced by adding one electron and forming radical-anions subsequently dimerizing and undergoing further chemical transformations. The reaction products of the fulvene I radical-anions are electrochemically active and can be recorded by CVA. The electroreduction mechanism of fulvene I was discussed.
